Your main task will be to develop new functionalities in our OpendTect system in close cooperation with international E&P companies and dGB specialists. This involves finding creative solutions and often exploring new territories, to ensure innovations are adapted to the daily needs of the end-user.

The successful candidate is a dynamic, self-motivated person with a BSc. or MSc. degree in geophysics, geology or related subject. Excellent communication skills in English are required. Strong affinity with programming and object oriented software development (especially C++) is preferred. Knowledge and experience of seismic interpretation using OpendTect is a plus.

Case studies cover the fields of quantitative interpretation (inversion, modeling, rock property prediction) and qualitative interpretation (seismic facies analysis, object detection, chimney interpretation, fault seal analysis, sequence stratigraphy).

Simultaneously, you will closely interact with dGB's software developers to ensure the development of new seismic software solutions that are beneficial for the whole seismic community.
