How can I view my UVQ class centres, i.e. a feature set as seismic data. |
The class centres of a UVQ neural network are saved in a feature set (as seismic style). This feature set and any other feature set in the proper format can be viewed as seismic data. This format is similar to seismic data format, i.e. values at a certain sample rate, e.g. for every 4 ms. Within the Seismic Process window, you can select a seismic file as input. It is however also possible to select a feature set, although the process requires creating a link to the feature set. Before explaining the actual procedure, let's discuss the data management of the software. Each type of file is stored in a specific directory, e.g. grids in Grids/, seismic data in Seismics/, and feature sets in Features/. The names that appear in the software are called Reference names, as they refer to a file. This file can be stored in any directory, disk, machine etc., but is usually stored in the specific directory as explained above. When you open the Grids module, you automatically select input from and write output to the Grids/ directory, the same applies for the Seismics module. To read and write data from other locations requires a bit more. The same applies when you want to reach the actual feature set file from the Seismics module. In the Seismic Process window, click on Select for input seismic, which brings you automatically to the Reference names of the /Seismics directory. Create a new entry by clicking on New. By setting the Translator to Feature Set, you tell the system you are looking for a feature set. Then click on Select, and you will see the list of Reference names attached to the directory /Features. When you have chosen the feature set, the software will automatically copy its Reference name to the box at the top of the window. Click OK and Select twice and you are back in the Seismic Process window, where the feature set appears as input seismic. This file can now be processed as regular seismic data. With the above procedure a Reference name has been established for this feature set within the list of seismic Reference names, while the actual file is still stored in the /Features directory. This feature set can still be processed as a feature set, as nothing has changed with the file itself.
