I get a lot of strange characters when displaying help in my HTML browser.

This problem has been reported a couple of times from clients in Asia. It was due to the unavailability of certain font sets. Bill Liao (Techspan technologies) reported that he added

xset +fp /usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi

to the help viewer startup script.
