Sinogeo, China’s leading independent E&P contractor has joined the OpendTect SSIS II consortium, which aims to enhance and extend dGB’s sequence stratigraphic interpretation system. Mr. Jinming Zhou, President of Sinogeo, says: we introduced sequence stratigraphy in P.R. China and found a lot of oil that way. Unfortunately, much of this type work is done manually because of the lack of proper software tools to assist the interpreter. It is time consuming and impossible to test different scenarios. At the last SEG conference I saw dGB exhibiting their new OpendTect SSIS software and I knew this software would be very beneficial to our interpreters. We are very pleased to join the SSIS II consortium so that we can employ the current software and steer future developments to fit our needs. Given our specific expertise in this domain I am confident that Sinogeo’s input will be beneficial to the product.
