OpendTect Stable Release 2.2.2

dGB has released Stable Release 2.2.2 of OpendTect. It features new functionalities that are part of the OUF project (OpendTect User Friendliness). Added functionalities are: Shortcuts for moving inlines/crosslines/timeslices, Move elements in tree, Display color/colortable pixmaps in tree, Gridlines on inlines/crosslines/timeslices, Create RandomLines through welltracks, and Create own welltracks.
 
New agent in Iran

dGB will be represented in Iran by Dana Geophysics. Dana Geophysics is based in Teheran and they will distribute dGB’ software and provide services making use of dGB’ software.
 
Workshop
Monday, 16 January 2006
Paul de Groot and Fred Aminzadeh will conduct a workshop on attibutes at NIOC in february.

dGB has released Stable Release 2.2.1 of OpendTect. It features several small updates and improvements.
 
Book

Fred Aminzadeh and Paul de Groot are working on a book entitled: “Neural Networks and Other Soft Computing Techniques with applications in the oil industry”. This monograph is an extension of the series of articles on AI that were published in First Break (2004). A DVD with OpendTect + plugins with a 3D seismic data set + wells will be included for hands-on experimentation with neural networks. The book will be published by EAGE and is scheduled for release in Jan. 2006.
